Ok so things just happen around me I just happen to see crazy things I guess!! God uses everyday situations to speak to me and I LOVE it!!!
I promise this really happened!!
Check this out....
So I am driving on the highway on my way to pick up my son I have just passed by an exit where it merges to another highway and takes you to the airport. I am in the right lane and I notice in the shoulder there is a car maybe about 20 to 30 feet down from the exit I just passed. Now normally when I see a person stranded I say a quick prayer for God to protect them as they wait for help and for God to send the right person to help them. Even if they have someone helping them I still pray. So I prepare to pray and then I notice something odd. This car isn't stranded this car is BACKING UP!!! No joke this person was drivng backwards on the shoulder of the highway. I pass them and am now really thinking ok Lord whatever they are doing keep them safe. I pass by the car and prepare to exit myself and I look back this car was backing up because they missed the last exit and they backed up so they could exit!!!
I know not smart huh?!?
But then it hit me....
We totally do this on our walk with God. We try and just back up or merge our lifestyle with God. This doesn't work!! We have to completely turn from what we are doing, turn from the world, turn from our sins and follow God. It isn't just a left or right turn because that would imply that we were already going in the right direction but we just needed to make a slight turn to get on track. NO!!! Or it means we are doing what we want and we take the "God exit" every now and then and when we are done we just jump back on our highway of life and go on about out business. NO!!! WRONG!!
See here is the deal on our own we are weak and we are proned to all kinds of things. BUT when we completely give ourselves over to God we make his plan our plan, His life for us our life, TOTALLY on fire for him then what happens......
WE MAKE A U TURN!!!!
See we can't be like the guy on the highway and mess up and back up and pretend like it didn't happen. No we have to face what we did turn away from it LEARN FROM IT and start over and get back on the right track!!
Picture this you are running to hug your child or your spouse or best friend whatever think about someone who everytime you see them you just want to give them a BIG HUG!! BUT picture this you are running backwards... SILLY right?!? Well we do this. We try stay in the world and do what we want but we also try and embrace God. This doesn't work. How do you embrace someone when your back is turned to them and you are looking the other way? You can't!! This is just nonsense!!!
The Bible clearly says we are either hot or cold for him there is NO lukewarm, no fence staddling allowed here buddy!!
So this is the question I have for you tonight.....
